Hackathons
Build something in 48 hours.
The format
Hackathons bring together multidisciplinary teams around a concrete challenge, often rooted in a local problem: Senegalese open data, agriculture, health, national languages. Some projects born in a hackathon have continued their life within the community.

- Developers, data scientists, designers, and project managers. Teams are formed on the spot; you can come alone.

Google AbiHack 2025
Hackathon co-organized with Google, bringing together teams around projects built on its technologies.

GalsenAI's Fraud Detection Competition
Fraud detection competition designed by GalsenAI with AI Hub Senegal and hosted on Zindi. Participants had to identify fraudulent transactions on the Xente e-commerce platform data, evaluated using the F1 score. 198 people registered, 144 competed, for a total prize pool of 1,450,000 FCFA shared among the top ten places. The competition was restricted to participants residing in Senegal.

Expresso Hackathon 2019
First hackathon co-organized by the community, focusing on predicting customer churn based on telecommunications operator data. The competition was held on the Zindi platform.
